Bourbon Snaps Bust!!!

See this recipe??? DON'T MAKE IT!!! Save your ingredients for another recipe instead. And to think I pulled out the good butter (Plugra) and the expensive almonds from Whole Foods for this recipe. I knew I should have used their cheaper counterparts instead. I just knew it. Really, I did.

The taste of the batter is awful. Really, really awful. I've never been much of a molasses fan anyway, but it totally overpowers this recipe. There is no sweetness to the batter, and if you make the recipe exactly as written, it turns out with the consistency of brownie batter, not the consistency you would expect for a drop cookie. I made my brother bring me his bottle of Wild Turkey over the weekend just so I could make this cookie recipe, too. Oh, well. I haven't had a flop recipe in a long time, so I guess one was due. I ate a Flake bar to take away the baking blues. Well, the Flake bar therapy worked, and I'm going to try another recipe later tonight. I want to bake something yummy for my friend Amy who I am going to lunch with tomorrow. Fingers crossed, the next recipe will work. If not, there's another Flake bar in the freezer with my name on it.

This is what the batter looked like:

I'm sorry your recipe didn't work out. That happens too often with me in the kitchen. hehe

Lauren, that was one nasty tasting batter. And I mean nasty. I shudder just thinking about it. Oh, well...win some, lose some. C'est la vie.
